Lamppost banners

1. Do you currently permit lamppost banners in order to communicate Council messages?

If so, which organisation provides these for you?

Are you in and exclusive deal with them?

What length of contract and expiry date?

Did you go to tender?

What do you currently pay, per banner for the print and installation?

We do allow banners in suitable locations, but not necessarily to communicate council messages. For instance, the Womens Rugby World Cup will be utilising some banners in the Sandy Park area. Various banner suppliers could be used, but they must first meet the specifications laid out in the street lighting contract to ensure columns are suitable and not overloaded.

2. Are you, or would you be interested in generating extra revenue from the Lampposts? If so, who would deal with the same?

If you already have an agreement in place:

Who is it with?

What length of contract and expiry date?

Did you go to tender?

Information on the contract covering is available online at  Advertising on the Highway (including lighting columns)

What is the revenue share %, and how much did the council earn in the last 2yrs?

The revenue share is as follows

Estimated total sponsorship revenue (per annum) FEE Retained by Service Provider (%) FEE Returned to CUSTOMER (%)
£0-£50,000 35.00% 60.00%
£50,001 – £100,000 35.00% 60.00%
£100,001 – £250,000 25.00% 70.00%
£250,001 – £500,000 20.00% 75.00%
£500,001+ 20.00% 75.00%

The service has not yet launched so no earnings are available to report.

3.When the agreement expires are you planning to go out to tender for these services and, if not, why not?

There has been no decision on future tender, this information is not held.
