IT Network strategy

Please could you assist me by sending information regarding the following:
1. Please can you direct me to the authority’s current IT Network strategy?

Devon County Councils (DCC) network strategy is to procure a new fit for purpose network.  This will leverage improved security features while still allowing staff to access DCC systems reliably.

2. What does the council currently use for their Networks (WIFI/LAN/SD-WAN)?

DCC has a managed MPLS WAN covering approximately 120 sites, with each remote site having a layer 2 switch, or stack, depending on size. All remote sites currently route back to our main data centre, where we have a resilient dual switch core. We have a cloud managed WIFI service at around 35 sites currently.

3. Who are you currently working with for your Networks?

WIFI SCC 21/05/2026

5. What does the council consider most important when reviewing their Network Strategy?
