Hospitality and Gifts Register, Codes of Conduct and Policies

“Please can you supply me with the following information:

1.Devon County Council’s Code of Conduct for staff employed by the Council.

Devon County Council’s Corporate Employee Code of Conduct  for all staff employed by the Council, is provided.

2. Devon County Council’s Code of Conduct and/ or policies or procedures that cover conduct in respect of adult care workers employed by the Council or providing support to service users on behalf of the Council.

Devon County Council (DCC) adult care workers follow the Department of Health Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England

The requirement of providers to have a policy on the conduct of staff delivering care services to individuals on behalf of the Council is detailed in our individual contract specifications. CQC Regulated Services are also required to comply with relevant and related areas of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Services) Regulations 2014 which have detail about how a provider should protect an individual from abuse an or improper treatment.

Employees of the Council are also required to abide by this Duty of Care

3. Any policies or guidance in respect of relationships between service users and adult care workers.

4. Any policies or guidance in respect of acceptance of gifts by council employees or staff working on behalf of the Council.

5. Any policies or guidance covering the situation where a care worker employed by the council or working on behalf of the Council is offered a bequest from a service user.

6. Any policies or guidance covering the situation where an adult care worker employed by the council or working on behalf of the Council is asked to witness a service user’s will.

7. Devon County Council’s register of gifts and hospitality for adults dating from January 2014. Please see Corporate Hospitality Register – Adults.
