1) Please provide a copy of the initial contact letter sent to new home educators in your Local Authority.
The families of children that previously attended school will receive one of two initial contact letters. One of the letters offers a home visit from an adviser, if it is considered the family may benefit from one; the other is for families where a home visit will not be offered in the first instance.

2) Is the initial contact letter the same whether the parent has deregistered from a school or has been home-educating from the start and you become aware of the family in some other way? If they are different, please provide a copy of both letters.
Devon County Council does not have a standard letter for children we become aware of through other means. The standard letters referenced above would be adapted according to the individual circumstances.
3) When was your Elective Home Education policy last updated?
Our Elective Home Education policy is currently being drafted.
4) Were local home educators involved directly in the process of reviewing the Elective Home Education policy when it was last updated?
We are not yet at the review stage.
