This is an enquiry regarding the standards to which Devon County surveyors worked in the 1930’s.
I am very interested in the standards to which a survey from Devon county archives was carried out between 1931 and 1933 and believe that Devon county surveyors would have been trained to produce work of a very high quality.
My questions are;
1/ To what British Standard were Devon county council surveys produced?
(I believe that there would have been a bench mark required for any accurate survey)
2/ How accurate (to what part of an inch) where they quoted as being?
Devon County Council do not hold this information due to the length of time that has passed since the survey was carried out.
