HFSS (High in Saturated Fat, Salt and Sugar) Regulations Enforcement

– How many visits have taken place by your Trading Standards team with the express purpose of enforcing on HFSS regulations since their introduction on 1 October.

No visits with the express purpose of enforcing the Food (Promotion and Placement) (England) Regulations 2021 have been conducted. These provisions will be enforced as part of routine risk based inspections of relevant businesses.

– If a member of your Trading Standards team has found a business non-compliant with HFSS Regulations since their implementation on 1 October. If so, how many.

Devon County Council has no reports of non-compliances on inspection.

– If your Trading Standards team has issued an improvement notice to a retail business in relation to HFSS Regulations since their implementation on 1 October. If so, how many.

No Improvement Notices have been issued.

– If your Trading Standards team has had to prosecute or serve a notice of intent for a fixed monetary penalty to a retail business in relation to HFSS Regulations since their implementation on 1 October. If so, how many.

No prosecutions have been instigated or Notices of Intent issued. Regulation 14 requires a Food Authority to publish a report about enforcement action under these Regulations and it is the intention this will be done as part of the Service’s annual performance report.
