I would like to know how was a democratic consultation carried out for the first phase of the Heavitree/ Whipton Low Traffic Neighbourhood and how was this scheme allowed to go ahead when only a few people were consulted?
Two consultations were conducted at an earlier stage of this project, the results of which can be viewed on our website Heavitree and Whipton Phase 1 Consultation and Heavitree and Whipton Phase 2 Consultation.
Following these consultations, the scheme was taken to the Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) Agenda for Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee on Tuesday, 20th June, 2023, 10.30 am – Democracy in Devon.
The trial is currently being implemented as part if the ETRO (Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders) process, under which a statutory consultation is live, enabling residents and other stakeholders to formally provide feedback on the changes. The ways to do this can be seen via our trial website: Heavitree & Whipton Active Streets Trial .
