Heavitree and Whipton Trial Scheme

Could you please supply me with the data used to ascertain the 50/50 split as mentioned in the report from the Director of Climate Change, Environment and Transport. regarding the Active Streets Heavitree and Whipton Trial Scheme dated 20th June 2023. This is in relation to;
5) Consultations/Representations/Technical Data and reads
”However, further analysis showed that the balance was approximately fifty fifty between respondents supporting at least one option and respondents not supporting any options’. Please provide the data showing how this fifty/fifty split was reached.

Please see the below table detailing the number and percentage of respondents supporting given numbers of options for modal filters during the Heavitree and Whipton Phase 2 public consultation:

As shown above, 49.8% of the respondents considered in this analysis supported no options for modal filters, therefore 50.2% supported at least one option, which is the basis for the referenced report text.

Please also note the following:

  • Consultation respondents who did not give feedback on any options for modal filters are excluded from the above analysis.
  • Consultation respondents could choose to only respond regarding certain options for modal filters, or could indicate they were neutral regarding certain options. Therefore, not all of the respondents who supported zero options opposed all four options.
