With regard to the above scheme please confirm :
1. Which of the blue light services have been consulted?
Devon and Cornwall Police, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, South Western Ambulance Service (SWAS)
2. Which health professionals have been consulted and what are their names and places of work?
We consider the names of health professional to be exempt under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act (Personal Data).
Devon County Council is not obliged to provide information that is the personal information of another person if releasing it would contravene any of the provisions in the Data Protection Act 2018.
In this instance we believe that the release of this information would contravene the first data protection principle and therefore Section 40(2) is applied.
The places of work of those consulted are: South Lawn Medical Practice, Mount Pleasant Health Centre, St Thomas Medical Group, College Surgery Partnership, Cullompton (overseeing Public Health (PH) role), Topsham Surgery (overseeing public health role)
3. What method of communication was available for them to respond?
Consultees could provide verbal feedback during face-to-face or Teams meetings
4. What are the dates when they were contacted?
Blue light services – 3, 4, 10 August 2022.
Public Health clinicians – 17 November 2022.
5. How many have responded and what are their concerns, if any?
16 people participated in the discussions (5 emergency service representatives, 5 Devon County Council Public Health professionals, 6 clinicians from other organisations). Many were supportive of the proposals, in view of their potential to improve public health and reduce road traffic collisions. However, the SWAS representative raised a concern about the impact of a particular modal filter on ambulance routes. Additionally, a public health clinician raised a concern about the potential impact of the scheme on those visiting clients’ homes, due to the potentially increased journey distances. Both issues will be explored further.
