Fair and Affordable Care policy

1. Please provide me any reports compiled by the council following the public consultation on the Fair and Affordable Care Policy: Fair-and-affordable-care-policy

The following information can be seen via the links below:

2015 report

Meeting of Cabinet on Wednesday, 8th July, 2015 – Democracy in Devon

2. Please tell me how many disabled people have had to accept a care package in a residential care setting rather than care and support at home as a result of this policy, for every year since 2015.

The council does not hold this information.

3. I refer specifically to these excerpts in the policy: ‘We will identify the best value support plan that can be delivered to meet your eligible needs. This could include where a residential care service can meet your needs at a lower cost than the cost of care and support that would enable you to remain in your own home… We wish to make it clear that this policy will be invoked particularly where an option is available that represents better value to DCC than providing you with the necessary level of care in your own home.’
How many times, for every year since 2015, has this policy been invoked where a residential care option has represented better value to DCC than providing the necessary level of care in the person’s own home?

The council does not hold this information.

4. Please also provide any equality impact assessments carried out on this policy.
