Can you confirm if a Equality Impact Assessment was undertaken SPECIFICALLY for and immediately prior to the decision to permanently close Dryden Road to road vehicles in 2022.
No.
Can you please share the link to this EIA and demonstrate it was not the same one that was used for the temporary closure (which was for different reasons) in 2020.
An impact assessment was prepared for the E9 route, which included Dryden Road (referenced in two previous FOIs: Environment impact assessments – Light Traffic Schemes in Exeter – Freedom of information and Equality Impact Assessment Dryden Road Closure May-June 2020 – Freedom of information). The assessment covered not only the temporary infrastructure on Dryden Road but also other sections of the E9 route, including Wonford Road and Ludwell Lane. There is no material difference between the temporary scheme implemented in 2020 and the permanent scheme approved by Members in 2022; the temporary red and white barriers on Dryden Road were simply replaced with permanent bollards.
