1. Does the Council have a plan in place to increase the number of electric vehicle (EV) charging points?
The Council has developed a EV Strategy which will be published shortly. This will set out the councils plan to support the roll out of public EV charging infrastructure. We have a plan to replace our existing fossil fuel fleet when the vehicles are the right age to provide the best carbon benefit.
2. If so, how many new charging points are expected to be in place by the end of 2023?
DCC are leading a EU-funded project in partnership with other authorities from the county and this is expected to install around 40 public chargepoints in car parks across Devon by April 2023. We are planning to install 10 chargepoints for DCC fleet vehicles by the end of the year.
