We are looking for a report for the road and drainage by Littleford Cottage, Bradworthy, EX22 7RH.
We refer to an Environment report dated 5/5/2009, to stop flooding to Littleford cottage and road surfaces.
Devon County Council (DCC) does not hold a report of this description.
However, our searches have produced the following information that may be of interest:
A record details an incident dated the 25th August 2015 and details that the depth of flooding was approximately 0.6 metres. The description of the event recorded at the time is: Intense Rainfall led to stream overtopping under bridge and then banks near 1 residential property. The record was created on 26/08/2025. The source of the flooding is recorded as fluvial (Ordinary Watercourse). No other properties in the area were affected and there are no records of property flooding in the area since then.
Please be advised that DCC’s Flood Incident database is primarily concerned with properties / communities affected, so if the land associated with the property has flooded in the past, it is unlikely that it would be recorded on our systems. DCC’s historic flood database is not an exhaustive dataset. If we have no records of internal property flooding at this address, it does not mean that it has never occurred, as we are reliant upon residents to report flooding to us when it occurs.
In addition, we are able to provide the following:
An email and detail of works at Littleford Cottage with a photograph of the location
You will see that some information has been redacted in grey. This is because we consider this information is exempt under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act (Personal Data). Devon County Council are not obliged to provide information that is the personal information of another person if releasing it would contravene any of the provisions in the Data Protection Act 2018. In this instance we believe that the release of this information would contravene the first data protection principle and therefore Section 40(2) is applied.
