1. Does Devon County Council currently have a contract in place for domiciliary care services, if yes, when does this contract expire?
When contracts ended in 2023 we reverted to spot contracts for the delivery of Personal (Domiciliary) Care. Since April 2023, Devon County Council (DCC) has seen an improving position in relation to market capacity for Personal Care (Domiciliary) support services. On this basis DCC took a decision to pause progression of new contracts for delivery of these services for a period, to ensure a safe and measured growth in meeting demand.
We are continually monitoring the market position and any changes in the current decision not to issue new Personal Care contracts will be communicate to the whole market. In addition we are currently reviewing all community services provision to inform future commissioning and will share when we have a timetable and plans.
2. Does Devon County Council currently have a contract in place for supported living services, if yes to, when does this contract expire?
Yes, we do have a spot contract in place for Supported Living services. However, this contract is not currently being issued to new providers, this hold is in place whilst we review and develop the current service model with a view to re-commissioning it in 2026. This may potentially end existing contractual arrangements.
