In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following information in the format provided below.
1 .How many pieces of artwork (valued over £200) does the council own?
Devon County Council (DCC) has 11 pieces of artwork with market valuations over £200.
2. Of these, which pieces are on public display?
Artworks are listed at nine separate locations, including six libraries, one community college and two corporate buildings. DCC have no information on which art works are on public display.
3. What is the total value of the artwork owned by the council?
The indicated total market valuation for paintings is £8,000, in additional there is a sculpture ‘Stack of Books’ in Exeter Central Library that was commissioned in 2014 for £3,500 (market value unknown).
4. What is the value of the pieces of artwork on public display (please detail the artist and name of any pieces worth over £10,000)?
Please refer to our response in question 2 above. We have no information on which art works are on public display. The Council does not currently hold any individual items with valuations exceeding £10,000.
