Cycle path construction

Please supply  as a shapefile, gml or geojson file the coordinates of any newly constructed, traffic-free, cycle path for each of the three financial years 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21 (planned in the case of 2020/21) so I can plot this data on maps using map creation software. If this is not possible, please supply to me just the start and end coordinates. In any case, please also supply to me the length of each path.

Please supply , for each of these years, a figure for total capital funding for cycling (secured funding in the case of 2020/21). Please exclude from this figure walking capital and walking revenue. If you do supply cycling revenue, please separate this figure from cycling capital.

Information is available on the spreadsheet which can be accessed via the link below:

Spreadsheet

We do not hold any shapefiles for any newly constructed schemes described; however coordinates have been provided and distances have been estimated. We have only included physical walking and cycling infrastructure that has been delivered in the years requested (rather than including costs of schemes which are ‘in development’). Our total expenditure per annum is higher than presented in the Excel spreadsheet as we also spend fees on scheme development including design, land acquisition, planning etc.

In terms of 2020/21, some of our spend has been provided up in the spreadsheet up until the end of August 2020. In addition, Devon County Council was allocated £338,000 (of which £316,426 was revenue and £21,574 was capital funding) in tranche 1 of the Government’s Emergency Active Travel Fund, which supported delivery of a series of “pop-up” measures across the County, with majority of funding focused on Exeter, Barnstaple, Bideford and Newton Abbot. In November 2020, Devon County Council received a further £1,283,450 (of which £256,690 was revenue and £1,026,760 was capital funding) allocation through tranche 2 of the Active Travel Fund, which will be focused in Exeter, Barnstaple and Newton Abbot.
