Yes, but they are commissioned and delivered as part of an integrated sexual health service, not in isolation.

Devon County Council (DCC) do not identify spend on “testing” separately.

The total spend on “STI testing and treatment” is made available as part of the individual Local Authority General Fund Revenue Account Outturn RO3 – Social Care and Public Health Services. Data for both 2021/22 and 2022/23 can be found here: Local authority revenue expenditure and financing.

Provisional data for April to December 2023 suggests like-for-like spend on STI testing and treatment of £2,853,504 but final figures will be published in due course.

b. How much did the authority spend on online services?

3. How much was spent (by the authority or predecessor organisations) in each period with each of the following providers for online sexual health services?

In the periods 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24 (April to December) the only organisation to receive funding specifically for the provision of online sexual health services will have been the provider of our integrated sexual and reproductive health services, the Royal Devon University Hospital Trust. The contract was awarded to Northern Devon Health Care Trust (NDHT) who have since merged with the Royal Devon and Exeter (RDE) to become the Royal Devon University Hospital Trust.
