Connections into the public sewer

1) South West Water Ltd (part of the Pennon Group Plc) has been undertaking investigations in Salcombe Regis in order to determine the number of connections into the public sewer and which are contributing to the issues at the STW. A large number of highway gullies have been found to be connected into the public sewer. Please provide copies of any agreements between your authority and South West Water which allows these connections.

2) In addition South West Water has found an underground tank at a depth of approximately 3 metres which is accepting land drainage flows. South West Water Ltd (part of the Pennon Group Plc) has found an underground tank at a depth of approximately 3 metres which is accepting land drainage flows. This tank is situated in land registered as the Diary House Northcombe Farm, Salcombe Regis, Sidmouth, EX10 0JH. These flows are being pumped up and discharge into a highway gully which in turn discharges into South West Water’s sewer. Please provide any details of applications to your authority for permission to discharge land drainage from this tank into the highway gully together with any responses from you.
