Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras

1.How many fixed Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras (i.e. permanently mounted in static locations) do you have and who is the supplier of these cameras? (Ex – traffic enforcement camera)

Of the 18 Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) that are owned/leased by Devon County Council (DCC), there are 15 fixed CCTV systems in operation. Such systems fall to the operator (Waste Management Contractor) of the sites to maintain/upgrade/replace as required, and as such, DCC does not hold specific details.

2. How many mobile CCTV cameras (i.e. cameras that are moveable and can be deployed temporarily in different locations) do you have and who is the supplier of these cameras? (Ex – Body worn camera)

 The 18 HWRCs operate at least 1 body worn camera per site. The Council does not hold details of suppliers as these are provided/maintained etc through the waste management contractor that operates these sites.

3. Which Video Management System (e.g. Milestone, Gentech, Avigilon, Honeywell (MAXPRO) etc.) do you use to manage your cameras?

Essa Touchview control system with an Axis video recording system used by the Highways Operational Control Centre (HOCC).

For HWRCs, CCTV equipment is operated by the site’s waste management contractor and DCC does not hold details

4. Who is the supplier of your video surveillance system?

Jenoptik (formerly Essa) used for the HOCC.

The whole Essa Touchview control system used for the HOCC is under CCTV contract maintenance with Jenoptik (formerly Essa) from 2012 to Sept 2019 at an annual cost of around £95,000.

For Household Waste Recycling Centres, CCTV equipment is operated by the site’s waste management contractor and DCC does not hold details.

No maintenance contract is currently in place for the cameras provided by Reveal Media.
