Please can you tell us how many child in care and care leavers there are in Devon as of 1st Jan 2025. We were looking for information relating to children and young people who are the responsibility of Devon County Council only please as we are aware you dont hold information on other young people from other authorities.
Out of these children and young people , we would like to know how many young people in care/care leavers in Devon identify within these areas of the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 ;
age
disability
gender reassignment
pregnancy and maternity
race
religion or belief
sex
sexual orientation.
Lastly we would like to know if you hold any data on young people aged 16-18 in supported accommodation but not given care leaver status ie: there under section 17 of the children act. how many young people in Devon are in this group?

As at 1st January, there were 13 who were pregnant.
We do not hold central records with regard to race and to extract this information from the 848 individual files would therefore take longer than 18 hours. Compliance with this part of the request would therefore exceed the appropriate cost limit under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 which is £450 or 18 hours of officer time.
