What is the amount of funding that Devon County Council have given to Airband to provide broadband to communities within Devon?
Devon County Council is a partner in the Connecting Devon and Somerset programme. The Programme has a number of contracts with Airband, which are held by the programme’s Accountable Body, Somerset County Council. As a partner in the programme, the County Council has set aside £3m capital investment to the programme. To date, none of this allocation has been drawn down by Somerset County Council but we expect this sum to be made available during 23/24 and 24/25 as part of the overall public subsidy agreed and contracted under an open procurement process.
Have Airband met the requirements/milestones of the grant/funding?
All Connecting Devon and Somerset contracts are milestone based and payment is made following technical and financial assurance. Airband have achieved a number of design, build and operational milestones in accordance with the contract terms.
