Boxing Day Hunt Tiverton

Given the absence of a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) in place within the deadline for their use of Tiverton’s Fore Street (a Pedestrian Zone) and of Bampton Street (a One-Way system which they use against the legal flow of traffic), please can you tell me whether the Tiverton Foxhounds/ Hunt have made any alternative arrangements with yourselves/ Highways for this year’s Boxing Day event?

Has the Hunt submitted, or are they in process of organising, an Event Management Plan to cover for smooth running and the health & safety of all on the Day? Is the clean-up afterwards being organised and paid for by the Hunt, or by DCC and the public purse?

To date, no further information has been received by the County Council from Tiverton Foxhounds about their event.

Any breaches of road traffic legislation committed by the public in the use of a pedestrianised zone or of a one-way system on the highway is a matter for enforcement by the police, should they decide to do so, and not for the County Council.

Documentation submitted by the event organisers for their event is passed to the Mid Devon District Council Safety Advisory Group. The County Council is not yet in possession of an ‘event management plan’ for this event.

It is understood the event organisers are making their own arrangements for any necessary clean up following their event.
