Would you kindly provide details of Devon’s “Autism Partnership Board” which would include the council departments, external organisations and the number autistic people (lived experience of autism) including carers / parents actively involved in meetings?
Devon County Council’s (DCC) Autism Partnership Board takes the form of the ‘Autism Involvement Group’ and is attended by representatives from DCC adult social care commissioning and provision, Devon Partnership Trust provider trust, a GP and NHS Devon Clinical Commissioning Group, along with autistic people and parents of autistic children.
It is co-chaired by an autistic person and exact attendance varies depending on the issues being discussed to ensure relevant representation. District Council Housing authorities, the Police and Department for Work & Pension representatives have attended for relevant topics. Attendance usually runs to about 20 people, about half of whom are autistic.
Would you also provide a copy of your ‘Autism Strategy’ which is a legal requirement as stated in the updated autism act?
