5. Please provide the number of adults with learning disabilities who transitioned from children’s learning disabilities services into adult’s services – in total, into adult residential care services only, and into adult supported living services only.

We are unable to supply this information under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) 2000 – ‘Cost of Compliance’.  This is because this information is not recorded centrally and would require each file to be reviewed individually.

There are an average of 456 children in the 18-25 year old banding for each of the requested years, and we anticipate that it would take approximately 5 minutes per child to review each file and ascertain if the child in question has transitioned.  On the basis of 5 minutes per file, we estimate that this would take in the region of 38 hours for each year, which is clearly well in excess of the maximum 18 hours public authorities are required to spend responding to FOI requests.

6. Please provide the number of adults with learning disabilities who ‘stepped down’ from specialist in-patient hospital placements into adult residential care and supported living services.
