Accidents at Work

Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following information:

1. Please could you confirm the total number of accidents at work involving council employees and contractors that have been reported between September 2022 to September 2023.

There were 1293 incidents that were centrally reported as accidents to workers (employees, agency workers and work experience), and contractors, between 1 September 2022 and 14 September 2023.

2. What were the causes of these accidents?

Collision with another person
Contact with electricity or an electrical discharge
Contact with moving tools, machinery or equipment
Cut by sharp object
Effects of heat or cold
Exposure to fire
Exposure to harmful noise

3. How much compensation was paid out between September 2022 and September 2023 as a result of employee accident at work claims irrespective of the date the claim was submitted?
