For the calendar year 2023 there was a reported total spend on SEND transport of £26,642,862.
So far this calendar year (2024), up to and including October, we have a reported spend on SEND transport of £21,964,429.00.
2) The average cost per child of home to school transport for children with SEND
Passenger numbers for this question have been taken for the month of October. For the current calendar year, the cost per head is based on spend to date (up to and including October spend).
Calendar Year 2023 = £10,717.16 per head.
Calendar Year 2024 = £7,750.33 per head (we are still receiving requests for SEND transport at present).
3) The cost of home to school transport for the single child with SEND on which the local authority spent the most
