Following severe impact damage to the end of the bridge parapet and pilaster by a vehicle losing control, the road was closed by the Police and County Council as the exposed end of the parapet and dislodged masonry created a safety hazard, including an unprotected drop that needed protecting. The County Council installed temporary traffic signals as part of signing, lighting and guarding to allow the road to be safely reopened until remedial works are able to be arranged.
