Incidents relating to A386 Horrabridge to Drake’s Cafe

For the A386 Road covering the distance from Horrabridge at the Greybridge Road Junction with the A386 to Drake’s Cafe, formerly known as the Halfway House Inn at Grenofen please provide the following information for the calendar years from the 1st January 2014 to 9th September 2024.  

1) Please provide copies of reports, images, photographs and footage of accidents and incident investigations involving road traffic accidents and incidents, including but not limited to, reports regarding damage to the road and neighbouring hedgerow as the result of a traffic accident, and to include road safety recommendation reports from Devon and Cornwall Police and other bodies.

Devon County Council (DCC) only hold road collision records that involve personal injuries. For reference please see the collision map and public collision report public collision report of injury collisions between 2014 and 2024. Any collision records for 2024 are provisional and may be subject to change. And collisions records in 2024 may be missing at this time if there is a time lag in the receipt of provisional collision data by DCC from the police.

This spreadsheet contains details of records of highway reports from 1 Jan 2014 to present on the A386 where the comments include “collision,” “accident,” “RTC” or “RTA”.

Some of the information on the public collision report and the spreadsheet has been greyed out. This information is exempt from disclosure under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (Personal Data).

Devon County Council can confirm the requested information is held; however, the Council cannot disclose personal information if releasing it would contravene any of the provisions in the Data Protection Act 2018. In this instance release of this information would contravene the first data protection principle and therefore the information is withheld

Devon County Council holds one collision investigation report for one of the injury collisions contained in the public collision report; however, the Council cannot disclose personal information, if releasing it would contravene any of the provisions in the Data Protection Act 2018.  In this instance release of this information would contravene the first data protection principle because the involved individuals may be identifiable from the information contained in the report. Therefore, the information is withheld.

Devon County Council does not hold any other relevant reports, images, photographs and footage of accidents and incident investigations involving road traffic accidents and incidents.

2) Please also include road improvement schemes, recommendations and costs involved and copies of the agendas and minutes of Devon County Council meetings at which highways matters have been discussed.
