Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Units

Please provide the following information in an Excel spreadsheet file:

1. In your Local Authority area, please provide the number of Specialist Resource Provisions (SRP) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) units that exist. Please include any that have closed in the last 10 years.

2. Please provide a list of which schools in your local authority area have Specialist Resource Provisions (SRP) and SEN units (please include the school’s Unique Reference Number), the pupil age range of the SRP/unit, the SEN need it’s aimed at and what year the SRP/unit was set up. Please can you specify if you categorise it as an SRP, SEN unit or other. If other, please provide details.

3. For each SRP and SEN unit, please provide the number of students placed there since 2018. 

4. For each, please include details on who initiated them being set up, if available, i.e. was it the Council that approached schools about opening a SRP and SEN unit or an academy trust?

5. For each, how much capital funding was spent on the SRP/SEN unit?

6. Please provide details on how each unit is funded and what criteria a student has to meet to qualify for a place at the unit i.e. do they have to have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)?

7. Please provide details on any compliance or quality checks you carry out on the SRP/SEN unit.
