1) What decision has been taken by DCC in relation to the future ownership of the building and is that decision final?
Devon County Council (DCC) does not own this building. The building is the property of Anchor Housing Association.
2) What decision has been taken in relation to the future operation of the building and is that decision final?
DCC has been working with Next Steps Together, Livewell Southwest, South Hams Community Action (formerly SHCVS), and others to support development of a Community Hub. It is understood that Next Steps Together has applied for Lottery funds to support lease and running costs going forward.
If successful, Next Steps Together and Livewell will work together to create a new Community Interest Company to run a Tumbly Hill wellbeing hub for the residents of Kingsbridge and surrounding area.
3) What taxpayer funds are being or will be committed towards the costs associated with that building?
A commitment has been made by DCC’s Integrated Adult Social Care department to continue funding lease and running costs for the building as an interim arrangement until 30 August 2024; this is a service decision, and no corporate funding has been allocated. This will amount to approximately ten thousand pounds within the current financial year.
4) What taxpayer funds or other forms of financial assistance are being committed to support any third party in connection with that building?
No funds or financial assistance are being committed to support a third party, costs are committed to the building only.
5) The identity of that third party and their intentions?
Not applicable. There is no third party, as above.
