With regards to the sensor at the Park Road/Ladysmith Road junction within the Exeter LTN:
1. Please provide the hourly breakdown of walking figures?
Please see the below table for average pedestrian flows. Please note:
- Data is taken from sensors located near the Ladysmith Road/Park Road junction
- Pre-trial data is for weekdays in the period 1/1/23 – 30/6/23
- During trial data is for weekdays in the period 7/8/23 – 31/3/23

2. Please explain whether the recorded uptake is consistent throughout the day or is the inevitable consequence arising from parents having to walk the last few metres because they cannot drive through the bus gate.
Please see table above for differences in pedestrian flows throughout the day. The data held does not provide any information regarding the causes of any changes in flows.
3. Will Devon County Council (DCC) officers and councillors look at this hourly analysis when making decisions on the LTN because clearly if walking has only really increased over the school drop off and collection times then this is not necessarily a success criteria but could merely be an inevitable consequence of parents parking nearby and walking the last part of the journey?
A number of different factors will be presented to Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee when considering the impact of the Active Streets Trial.
