Road repairs to Davis Road, Dartmouth

What was the cost, in financial terms, of the repair to the road (reference W241701246 – reported 12/01/2024) to Davis Road, Dartmouth, completed on 08/03/2024?

The current cost reimbursable payment mechanism that we (Devon County Council) use within our term maintenance contract, which includes reactive maintenance and, therefore, repair of defects e.g. potholes, is such that we are unable to provide cost information for specific repairs and, therefore, geographical location.

For information, the average cost per pothole repair to date, across the county, in this financial year is around £140. This includes all costs associated with plant, materials, labour, traffic management, sub-contractor costs, and fees and overheads associated with repairs between 0-4 square metres.

You may be interested to know that in Dartmouth County Parish, we have completed 81 pothole repairs in this financial year. This also includes the repair of non-safety or ‘serviceability’ potholes, but not our wider proactive patching works, such as Dragon Patching, and trialling the use of an innovative material (Elastomac) which is a lower carbon repair solution.
