Electively Home Educated Children

1. How many pupils have left Devon schools to be electively home educated (EHE) since May 2019?

Compliance with this request would exceed the appropriate cost limit under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 which is £450 or 18 hours of officer time.  The Council does not hold a centralised record of this information, prior to the academic year 2020/21, therefore a manual check of each child’s file would be required to gather the information. Given the number of children in Devon, this would far exceed the appropriate limit.

In the interests of providing advice and assistance, the Council can provide the following information; since September 2020 there have been 2606 children who have left Devon schools to be EHE.
