Adults with Learning Disabilities

Please could you provide the following information?

1) Can you give me an up to date figures for the number of adults 18-65 with a learning disability known to social services, and numbers receiving services, broken down by district and Exeter city council areas?

There are currently 2,044 adults aged 18-64 with a primary support reason of learning disabilities receiving adult social care services. This figure includes out of county placements. These figures are for the age group 18-64, not 18-65 because Devon County Council’s statutory reporting is grouped for 18-64 (working age adults) and 65 and over (older people).

Broken down by Local Authority (not including out of county placements), these figures are:

East Devon = 312
Exeter = 297
Mid Devon = 195
North Devon = 214
South Hams = 159
Teignbridge = 313
Torridge = 237
West Devon = 136

2) And additionally could the figures for South Hams and West Devon be split to reflect the Health area they are covered by Plymouth Health (Tavistock/ Ivybridge/Kingsbridge) and Devon Health (Totnes / Okehampton)?

Additional breakdown by Plymouth Health area:
Ivybridge, Kingsbridge and Tavistock = 179

Additional breakdown by Devon Health area:
Okehampton and Totnes = 97
