In spreadsheet format, could you please list all of the commercial properties currently owned by the council including:
The address of the property
The date the purchase was made
The amount paid for the property
The current planning use class of the building (for example, Class E – Commercial, Business and Service)
Whether the property is currently being rented or leased (Yes/No) (as of 18 April, 2023)
For clarity, a commercial property is any property that is rented out or leased by the council for the purposes of returning an income to the council.
At present, Devon County Council (DCC) does not hold any assets that qualify as Investment Properties, assuming that Investment Property is equivalent to the definition provided of Commercial Property. That is, property (land or a building, or part of a building, or both) held solely to earn rentals or for capital appreciation or both, rather than for use in the production or supply of goods or services or for administrative purposes, or sale in the ordinary course of operations. An example would be, the County Farms Estate which is perhaps the largest source of rental income, but these are held for policy/strategic purposes and not for the generation of cash or income.
