Unaccompanied asylum seeking children and family members

How many unaccompanied asylum-seeking children were reunited with their families in your area in 2016?

How many are still registered as living with those family members?

How many then went into the care of the local authorities?

Some young people who came to Devon were reunited with family members in other areas. Devon County Council provided them with support, medical assistance where required and access to good nutrition, religious observance and shelter whilst families were found across the country – vetted by the Home Office and then reunited. We are unable to disclose the exact number as to do so may identify individuals, therefore that information is exempt under Section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Personal Data.
