1. How many unaccompanied asylum-seeking children claimed asylum within your area?

For 2015-16 we are not able to disclose the actual number of unaccompanied asylum seeking children as it may identify individuals, which would be a breach of the Data Protection Act 1998.  Therefore this information is exempt under Section 40 of the e Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Personal Data.

For 2016 – 2017 Devon County Council supported 20 unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
