Please note that enforcement of the Knives Act 1997 is primarily the responsibility of the Police. However in 2017 the Devon, Somerset and Torbay Trading Standards Service assisted Avon and Somerset Police in a test purchase operation whereby 6 out of 10 premises visited illegally sold knives to children volunteers.
