Please find Devon County Council’s response to each of your questions below;

  1. Can you please confirm how many of the below applications you process each year? Hackney carriage (taxi) drivers licence Hackney carriage (taxi) licence Private hire drivers licence Private hire operators licence Private hire vehicle (minicab) licence
  2. Can you please confirm if you share/ validate any of the information supplied as part of this process with external parties other than the applicant?
  3. Can you confirm the system (i.e. bespoke IT system, manual/ paper based, post/ email etc.) used to processed these applications?
  4. Can you confirm how application information is stored (and for how long) once an application is processed?

Please note that Devon County Council is not responsible for the processing and administration of taxi licences and therefore does not hold the information requested.  I understand that responsibility for issuing taxi and mini-cab licenses rests with each of the District and Unitary Councils in Devon.  I therefore suggest that you contact each of these organisations directly to obtain the information requested.
