Self-build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015

Under Section 2A of the Act (as amended by the Housing and Planning Act 2016) West Devon Borough Council must give suitable development permission in respect of enough serviced plots of land to meet the demand for Self-build and Custom Housebuilding in your authority’s area arising from each base period.  

Pursuant to that requirement, and Paragraph 50 of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), I would therefore be very grateful if you could provide me with the following information:  

The total number of entries on West Devon Borough Council’s self-build register for the base period 2015-16;  

Pursuant to 1) above and if applicable, the number entries on Part 1 of West Devon Borough Council’s self-build register for the base period 2015-16;

The total number of suitable development permissions which West Devon Borough Council has given up to 7 November 2017 to meet the demand arising from the base period 2015-16; 

For each permission given in answer to 3) above, please provide details of:

  • The planning permission reference number;
  • Application type (e.g. full, outline);
  • A brief description of the proposal (e.g. erection of detached two-storey dwellings); and
  • The total number of units/dwellings consented (e.g. 5, 10, 15, etc). 

Devon County Council is not responsible for Self-build and Custom Housebuilding and therefore does not hold the information requested.
