School Transport

Under the Freedom of Information act, please provide me with the following details (The time range I am interested in is for each of the three years 2015, 2016, 2017):

1) The number of school buses operated by or on behalf of the local authority, the Starting and End point of each bus and the length of the route in miles.
2) The amount of subsidy (if any) given to each operator to run a school bus service.

In response to questions 1 and 2 Devon County Council does not financially support local bus services purely for school transport. It purchases season tickets on registered local bus services for an agreed fee. We do not record the mileage each child with a season ticket travels every day.

3) The estimated number of school children who use the buses to travel to school in the given years.

Following on from our response to questions 1 and 2, the information which Devon County Council holds is therefore the number of purchased season tickets. Please see the table below:

Year Season Tickets
2015 2880
2016 2759
2017 2725
