Fabricated or induced illness (FII)

1.How many referrals have been made to your local authority’s social services mentioning concerns about fabricated or induced illness (FII) in a child for each of the financial years 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019?

Data on FII is not recorded in a reportable and extractable manner in our social care system. We may hold some information but to identify, locate and collate it would require a manual review of a significant number of case files, each one taking a considerable amount of time, therefore, as the total time needed would be in excess of the 18 hours allowed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 Section 12 Cost of Compliance therefore we consider this information to be exempt.

2.How many families have been put on a child protection plan following concerns about fabricated or induced illness (FII) in a child for each of the financial years 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019?
