What criteria is required to remove double or single yellow lines from public roads
Parking restrictions are introduced for a variety of reasons many of which would be linked to the need to prevent parking in an obstructive or dangerous fashion. Their removal can be considered if the reason for their introduction no longer applies.
Provisions for introducing Traffic Regulation Orders are provided in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the procedures which must be followed are described in The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996.
