Caller – Now the next problem, don’t know how you are going to tackle this one. Out at Morchard Road, where the Winkleigh Road goes off of the A377,
Adviser – Ok, bear with me a minute, umm, ok there we go, so I’ve got Winkleigh, so that comes off the A377, is that the one that comes off at Eggesford?
Caller – No, Morchard Road.
Adviser – Ahh yes, Morchard Road
Caller – Right on the corner, the person who owns the bit of land on the corner has actually put a fence on the verge.
Adviser -Ok
Caller – and has come about 2 metres from their original hedge. Now…nothing wrong with that, excepting there’s a ditch, now they’ve taken in the ditch that ran along the road, which used to take all the water.
Adviser – Oh is it now behind the fence?
Caller – It’s now behind the fence and that ditch used to take a lot of water and if they fill it up with soil where’s the water going to go?
Adviser – Ok
Caller– Somebody needs to just look at it…cos’..it’s very important to get the water off the road as you know.
Adviser – Ok- so that’s the junction of the A377and B3220
Caller – I think it is, yes
Adviser – If you’re turning off the A377, is it on the right or the left they’ve done this?
Caller -As you’re turning off it’s on the left-hand side if coming from Crediton area
Adviser – yep ok
Caller – and they’ve pulled up a load of trees there, Willow trees, that used to suck up a lot of water as well. But this extension of their land out into the verge has taken in the ditch that takes a lot of the water.
Adviser – Yes sure, it’s definitely something we will need to look into
