Contracts are to be renewed July 2022
Who is your current provider for each of these services?
The following suppliers are provided under a service agreement with Devon County Council:
British Sign Language – Sign Solutions provide remote / relay video and face-to-face Sign Language Interpreters to the County Council under a contract
Foreign Language – Telephone Interpreting – Language Line provide ‘on demand’ telephone interpreting for the County Council.
What was the spend by year for the last 2 financial years (2018 and 2019) in total and broken down by service:
- Telephone Interpreting – £1,500 for 18/19, £2,327 for 19/20
- Face to Face Interpreting – Devon County Council (DCC) does not collect data in this way. However, Multilingua (main provider of face to face and translation of foreign language) – £117,000 for 18/19, £108,270 for 19/20.
- British Sign Language – £30,000 (includes BSL translation video) for 18/19, £36,032 for 19/20
- Translation – Devon County Council (DCC) does not collect data in this way. However, Multilingua (main provider of face to face and translation of foreign language) – £117,000 for 18/19, £108,270 for 19/20.
