Cycle lane B3181 Cumberland Way

Currently a cycle lane is being installed down the B3181 Cumberland Way into the B3212 Pinhoe Road in Exeter.

How much this operation is costing the tax payer in total please

The segregated cycle lane being installed along Cumberland Way / Pinhoe Road forms part of the E4 cycle route, which along with the E3 route were formally adopted as part of a strategic cycle network for Exeter at Devon County Council’s Cabinet in June 2016. The specific scheme was subsequently formally approved in September 2017 at a cost of £1,713,200.

The project is being funded by the following sources:
£132,478 Devon County Council Local Transport Plan funding (out of a total Local Transport Plan budget of £3.6m for Devon)

£700,000 National Productivity Investment Fund (direct grant payment from central Government)

£880,722 developer contributions, which were secured from development in the Monkerton and Hill Barton area for the specific purpose of funding cycle improvements in the local area.
