Child in care housing complaints

1) The number of children in the care of the local authority, per year for the last five years, placed in the following types of accommodation placement:
a) Caravan parks (including static caravans and holiday parks)
b) Campsites
c) Hostels, hotels and B&Bs

We may hold this information but consider that given the number of placements, the date range requested, and the different information sources to review the total time needed to identify, locate and compile the information would be well in excess of the 18 hours specified under the Freedom of information Act 2000 Section 12 – Cost of Compliance.

For related information please refer to a previous response we made about placements of children in care.

2) The number of complaints received by the council with regard to housing children in the care system, per year for the last five years

Complaints are not categorised in this way, so although we may hold some information we cannot easily extract a report. To identify, locate and compile any relevant information we would have to manually review over 1600 complaints received in the last five years , and at approximately 2 minutes for each one, the total time required would be well in excess of the 18 hours allowed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 Section 12 Cost of Compliance.
