Devon County Council internal service provision consists of a team of Practice Leads, who have undertaken training through the Centre of Expertise (London based – Home Office funded), and who provide staff learning and development to individuals and to teams around developing understanding around and professional practice in relation to Child Sexual Abuse, which includes Child Sexual Exploitation and understanding Harmful Sexual Behaviour.
We also have the Reducing Exploitation and Absence from Care or Home (REACH) team in Children’s Services, who amongst a range of responsibilities to support vulnerable children and young people, provide consultancy support for professional practitioners around Child Sexual Exploitation.
Practitioners have been AIM Assessment, Intervention, Moving on (AIM) trained – with the objective of developing and supporting the understanding and practice of professionals working with children, young people and their families, where there are concerns about problematic or harmful sexual behaviour.
