Café Contracts in the Grand Western Canal

Full details of the contracts you have entered into with companies to operate café facilities at the canal basin and all other places on the Great Western Canal.

We have agreements with two businesses operating café facilities on the Grand Western Canal, details of these are:

Devon County Council has determined that some of the information within these agreements is exempt from disclosure under Section 43(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, where information is exempt information if its disclosure under the Act would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of any person and it is not in the public interest to do so.

Devon County Council has determined that some of the information within these agreements is exempt from disclosure under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, relating to Personal Information.

The rent for both agreements is invoiced annually by Devon County Council, with the full amounts contributing to the Grand Western Canal Country Park annual revenue budget.

The country park generates approximately £80k of income within its £202k budget (not including a £45k contribution from Mid Devon District Council). Within this, approximately £20k is generated through rents for various leases and agreements. Within this £7850 is generated through agreements that include catering concessions.
