Our Trading Standards Service which operates across Devon, Somerset and Torbay has a number of officers authorised to act as Inspectors under the Animal Health Act 1981 and the Animal Welfare Act 2006
If yes is the animal welfare inspector equipped and trained to deal with equine related welfare cases?
These officers are trained and equipped to act in relation to Equine welfare issues. Our prime responsibility and focus in this area is on the health and welfare of farmed animals and risk of disease spread, and many Equine welfare issues are outside of this scope.
